Throughout my life, I have been able to look at problems and solve them with a healthy dose of innovation. CHEESSE (Create, Healthy, Energy-Efficient, Safe, Sustainable, Environment) has been in the making for over 20 years. This journey began in 2002, when I built Detroit’s first certified 5-Star Energy-rated home, marking one of the earliest pioneering steps in the city’s sustainable housing movement. In 2007, I was part of the team that produced the Alternative Energy Analysis document for Cobo Hall. My green technology skill set continued to evolve with the installation of geothermal systems in both residential and commercial projects, including a major geothermal field installed in 2010 for Martin Luther King Jr. Senior High School. As a construction innovator and hands-on practitioner, I have consistently pushed the boundaries in building design and functionality. The result, CHEESSE, is a reflection of my deep commitment to integrating thoughtful innovation and sustainability into the construction of buildings.
